PASSION: Just An Emotion or Something More

What is it that gets you animated? You know, that thing that you’re really into. That topic that you just can’t quit talking about. We all have something that gets us fired up. But what about work and business? Does your business excite you? If not the whole business, something within the business that gets your juices going? When it comes to business or a job, I have always been one of those guys that is all in, or not at all. I mean, what’s the point of doing something half way. That’s not to say that everyday is a 10, but if the majority of your work saps your energy rather than energizes you, what are you doing?

Because we help people start their own businesses everyday, this is a topic that we address regularly. We begin our initial interview with a prospective franchisee by asking a lot of questions and getting reactions to extreme situations to see how people react. If a person has an attitude that says, “Oh, I guess I’ll give it a try.”, honestly, its better for everyone that they move on to something else. I mean after all, this is their future we’re talking about. If they aren’t excited about that, then this is a big mistake.

When it comes to our staff the same thing holds true. I want our staff to have an attitude that says, “I will be the best at my position everyday”. As a company we have said that we operate with ‘an intense determination to be the best we can be in every aspect of our organization’. Determination and an unrelenting desire to be the best will drive you to find innovative solutions, creative systems and superior tools to accomplish your goals, and nothing will stop you.

Passion to succeed, to be the best, will also get you through the down times. Passion, determination and an unrelenting desire to be the best will help you push through mistakes and obstacles. Its been said that you are only a failure if you quit. Believe me, we have made mistakes, experienced setbacks and just plain screwed up at times. The best you can do is own the mistake, fix it and not let it happen again. But never let it stop you from striving to be the best at what you do.
